In this case, the government also participates in minimizing to increase in cooking oil prices, which continue to soar from time to time after the new year 2022.
Based on information obtained from ANTARA, it is known that several reasons have led to an increase in the price of cooking oil due to an increase in the price of CPO (Crude Palm Oil) or crude palm oil in the international market. It is confirmed that to date, the international market has a price of US$1,305 (IDR 18,652,000) per tonne, an increase of 27.17 percent from the price at the beginning of 2021.
The increase in CPO prices was certainly triggered by a surge in demand for CPO, while in the same case, the supply of crude palm oil in the world is currently declining. The case of an increase in the price of CPO has actually been around since May 2020. Not only that, another cause of rising cooking oil prices is also believed to be the increase in demand for CPO which is used to meet the ongoing biodiesel industry with the implementation of the B30 policy (environmentally friendly fuel) derived from plants. This also triggers an increase in the price of cooking oil which is currently very high.
However, in the midst of an increase in cooking oil in Indonesia, the government of one of the state-owned companies, namely PTPN III, is currently conducting a large-scale market operation with the aim of helping all people in Indonesia to meet their daily needs for cooking oil. In this case, for the government, in order to reduce the price of cooking oil, the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency is trying to distribute funds of approximately IDR 3.6 billion so that it can be used as a subsidy for cooking oil. In addition, NUSAKITA products are one of the solutions to the increase in cooking oil prices which continue to soar from time to time. NUSAKITA products are very helpful for people in various circles to be able to meet their basic needs for cooking oil which is processed directly by experts with palm oil from plantations at PTPN.
